The Government of Abia State, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Alex Otti, has commenced the distribution of 53 units of 500KVA electricity transformers across communities in the state.
This initiative, flagged off with the delivery of the first batch to 11 communities, is part of the administration’s commitment to strengthening electricity infrastructure, driving industrialization, and improving the living standards of residents.
Governor Otti emphasized that reliable electricity supply is a cornerstone for economic growth and industrial development. He urged beneficiary communities to safeguard the transformers against vandalism, noting that they were procured with taxpayers’ funds.
Community leaders expressed deep appreciation, describing the gesture as a clear demonstration of the government’s dedication to transformation and inclusive development.
The distribution process was conducted transparently, with allocations made on a first come, first served basis, ensuring fairness and accountability.
