RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT COMPLETES STRATEGIC ABUA‑ODUAL–EMOHUA BRIDGE

The Rivers State Government has officially completed the landmark Abua‑Odual–Emohua bridge, a 240‑metre multi‑billion‑naira project delivered under the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in April 2026.

This strategic infrastructure connects Abua‑Odual and Emohua Local Government Areas, providing a vital link that will significantly improve transportation, trade, and economic activity across the region. Alongside the bridge, the government also completed the 14.5‑kilometre Agba–Ndele road, further enhancing access between rural communities and Port Harcourt.

Governor Fubara described the project as a symbol of inclusive development, emphasizing its role in reducing travel time to Port Harcourt to about one hour and boosting opportunities for farmers and traders to reach urban markets. Community leaders and civic groups have hailed the bridge as a transformative achievement that will strengthen livelihoods and foster growth in Rivers State.

The Abua‑Odual–Emohua bridge stands not only as a physical connection but also as a testament to the government’s commitment to rural development and strategic investment in infrastructure.
